Holy Family Catholic Church ~ Mass of the Christian Burial for Mrs. Linda S. (Sue) Clough
STOW - Linda S. (Sue) Clough, 74, died September 22, 2025.
Born in Euclid, Sue was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. While being a rose among thorns, raising three sons was her greatest joy. She was always supportive of their many sports and activities. This unconditional love extended beyond her home as she provided childcare for many other wonderful families.
Sue loved travel, walking, reading, art, and shopping with friends. Her grandkids fondly remember trips to the zoo, baking cookies, late night board games, and euchre.
Sue had a quiet influence that was balanced by her gentle humor and sarcasm. She was fluent in the language of love as she strived to put others first. She was known for spending quality time with friends and family, generously giving gifts, and cooking/baking for others, especially during the holidays.
Just like the sunflowers she loved, Sue will continue to brighten the lives of all she touched.
Preceded in death by her father, Lawrence J. Swaney, and siblings, Deborah Edelman and Robert Swaney, she is survived by her husband of 55 years, James; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Allison (their children, Gracie and Carter), Greg and Jalaja (their children, Nathan and Priya), Scott and Sangeeta (their children, Eleanor, Andrew, Jonathan, Benjamin, Joseph, and Christopher); mother, Catherine P. Swaney; brothers, Lawrence (Mary) Swaney and Michael Swaney; sister, Sharon (Rick) Sweigert, and sisters-in-law, Ruth Clough and Diane (Kevin) Sieving.
