HUDSON - Lyn Ashley Risk, 38, passed away March 4, 2026.
A lifelong Hudson resident, she graduated from Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy in 2006 and earned a degree in Business from Geneva College (PA). Her passion for aviation inspired a career as an airline dispatcher, where she met her husband, Russell, a pilot. Together they built a home full of warmth and laughter. Lyn could make anything grow and enjoyed sharing fruits and vegetables from her garden with neighbors and friends.
After their children, Elijah and Hannah, were born, she devoted herself to nurturing them. She found immense joy in making memories with them and channeled her creativity into planning and capturing their many adventures in photos and videos. She loved her family fiercely and wholeheartedly.
Under a quiet exterior lay a tender heart and an unbreakable spirit. A loyal friend to many, Lyn was quick to encourage and gifted at bringing out the best in those around her. She will be remembered for her sharp wit and thoughtful, steady presence.
A follower of Christ who attended Parkside Kent, Lyn’s faith grew and flourished in recent years. She was deeply attuned to spiritual things and saw God’s goodness and provision in the small details of life. She remained faithful through suffering and confident in His goodness. In the midst of profound grief, her family and friends rejoice in knowing that her story does not end here. We will see her again - and then forever.
She is survived by her husband, Russell; her children, Elijah and Hannah; her parents, Ronald and Doris Barnhouse, and her brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Rachel Barnhouse.
