STREETSBORO - In loving memory of Margaret (Margie) Groves Anders, who passed away on July 27, 2025.

She was born on May 29, 1927, to Vincento Patete & Edilia Patete (nee Padula), immigrants from Italy.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Groves, and second husband, Arthur Anders; sisters, Lena Rinella-Moore and Geneva Smith, and most recently by her brother-in-law, Bill McLure.

Margaret graduated from the cosmetology program of Hower High School in 1945. She also studied in New York and Toronto, Canada. In her time of working at the Mayflower Hotel Beauty Salon in Akron, she was lucky enough to shake hands with Eleanor Roosevelt, whose biographies she enjoyed reading.

Margaret was a longtime volunteer for the Humane Society of Summit County through their Happy Tails Thrift Shop. She also volunteered at Hudson Library.

Margaret was passionate about reading and participated in the Project Learn Program, helping adults read. Margaret also enjoyed golfing. She spent many years golfing with friends on the ladies' leagues at Sycamore and Valley View golf courses.

Margaret leaves behind son, Scott (Lissa) of Port Orange, Florida; daughter, Teresa Sondles (Scott) of Streetsboro, Ohio; sister, Anna Richards McLure; grandsons, Joshua Groves, Austin Groves and Ben (Isa) Groves; granddaughters, Amy Merrifield (Scott) and Stephanie Sondles; great-grandson, Henry Merrifield, as well as nieces, nephews and great-nieces.

Margaret lived the last eleven months at Danbury of Hudson, being awarded the Social Butterfly . . . feisty and chatting with everyone.

Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, for visitation on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM, where service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 10 AM.

Burial Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Summit County, 752 West Portage Trail, Akron, Ohio 44313.
