Obituary of Margaret Jean Zerby
Margaret Jean (Rouse) Zerby, 90, passed away April 6, 2017 at Sunrise of Cuyahoga Falls.
She was born in Akron on October 22, 1926 to parents Dwight and Maurine Rouse.
A lifelong resident of Cuyahoga Falls, Jean graduated from Kent State University and also attended the University of Akron. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls and taught elementary school in the Falls for over 25 years. Jean was an accomplished ice skater and enjoyed golfing with friends. She was also an avid traveler, touring Central America, Switzerland, Spain and the Holy Land.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Zerby, originally of Bellefonte, PA. She is survived by son, Richard (Leslie) Shroyer of Rochester, NY; grandchildren, Hilary and Brandon Shroyer; brother, Richard Rouse of Cuyahoga Falls; nephew, Gary (Robin) Rouse; and nieces, Patricia (George) Santin and Nancy (Matthew) Kuhn and their families.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
