Marian F. Matthews

Marian Frances (Monroe) Matthews, age 85, died June 3, 2015 at home with family in Stow, OH after a short time in hospice care.
Marian was born Nov. 15, 1929 in Webberville, MI. She trained to be a registered nurse at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing in 1950. After working in Detroit area hospitals she retired from William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI in 1984.
She is survived by her two children, Joyce (Robert) Bowser of Naubinway, MI and Gordon (Peggy) Matthews of Stow, OH; 5 grandchildren, Gordon, Mike and Greg Matthews, all of Ohio, Joshua Bowser of TX and Alexis (Robert) Drolet of PA; 2 great-grandchildren Laynie and Katie Drolet, also of Pennsylvania; two sisters Roberta (Jim) Keenan and Gayle (Paul) Shepler also survive. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her brother James Monroe and her husband of 60 years Gordon J. Matthews.
Marian has requested no services, cremation and burial at Fairview Cemetery in Brighton, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to your local hospice or local food bank.
