STOW - Mary Caroline (Henry) Schirra, 98, of Stow, passed away on April 25, 2024, at home.
She was born on February 7, 1926, in Akron, daughter of the late John T. and Sarah C. (Malinak) Henry. She was raised in Akron, graduated from St. Vincent’s High School in 1944, and worked for Goodyear prior to her marriage. On November 20, 1954, she married the love of her life, John B. Schirra. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Stow, enjoyed being in the kitchen, singing, throwing a party, as well as spending time with her family. She was very proud of the accomplishments of her entire family. She had a special ability to make everyone she met feel welcomed and loved. Her birthday wish was for everyone to be happy, healthy, and holy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John (2012); sons, John P. and James Schirra; siblings, Josephine Workman, William, Jack, and Jim Henry. Survivors include her loving children, Judy (John) O’Neil, Joe (Snowy), Jeff (Donna), and Jerry (Penny) Schirra; daughters-in-law, Sue and Kathy Schirra; seventeen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, (two more on the way), as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to the Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, 44224, for visitation Tuesday, April 30, 2024, 9 to 10 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held following the visitation at 10:30 AM, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow, 44224. Entombment Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s name to Holy Family Catholic Church.
