STOW - Maureen Carol Clark, 73, died December 15, 2023.
Born in Paisley, Scotland, Maureen relocated to Maple Heights, Ohio, in 1969, with her first-born son in tow. Maureen and Norman moved to Stow, Ohio, in 1978. She became a citizen of the United States in the early 1970s.
Maureen had been self-employed as a caregiver, retiring before Covid. She was also a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy Reserves for six years. Maureen had begun her nursing degree in Scotland prior to coming to the U.S.A. She completed her degree as a surgical technician at the University of Akron.
Maureen enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, and her Westies, Carrick, Abby, Bailey, Duffy, and Fergus. She was a talented bagpiper who played with the McCallum Highlanders Pipe Band, the Crag de Cede Pipe Band, and the 87th Cleveland Pipes and Drums.
Preceded in death by her parents, John and Irene O’Donnell, she is survived by her husband of 54 years, Norman Clark; daughter, Michelle (Heath) Brown; sons, David Clark and Scot (Jennifer) Clark; grandchildren, Hannah Clark, Colin Clark, Brynn Brown, and Cameron Brown; sisters, Eileen Black and Joanne Charvet; brothers, Ian, David, Andrew, and Martin O’Donnell, and the apple of her eye, Fergus, her beloved Westie.
A celebration of her life will take place in late spring or early summer when the flowers are in bloom. Maureen will be laid to rest at the Bonnie Wee Well in Paisley, Scotland, with all of her family.
