Milton Ray Bertka

STOW - Milton Ray Bertka, 92, went home to his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 18, 2026. He was born on January 18, 1934 in Akron, Ohio and was a long-time resident of Cuyahoga Falls and Stow. Milt was a 1953 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School after which he joined the Navy to honorably serve the United States. He worked for 22 years for the city of Cuyahoga Falls and retired from the village of Silver Lake Public Works as service director in 1995. When he wasn’t hard at work on a home project, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, carpentry, and Indy car racing. He worshipped faithfully at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cuyahoga Falls, the Chapel in Akron, and recently from home with First Baptist Church in Dallas via streaming service.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 72 years, Beverly; children, Sheri, Craig (Laura), Jeff (Carrie), and Todd (Mindy); grandchildren, Lindsay (George), Courtney, Nick, Chris, Jacob (Emily), Drew, Danny, Shaam (Dana), and Tamuz; great grandchildren, Allison and Archer; faithful friend, Tom Mercer.

Friends may call from 2p.m.- 4p.m. on Sunday, April 26 at Redmon Funeral Home 3633 Darrow Rd, Stow, OH 44224. A funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on Monday, April 27 at Redmon Funeral Home 3633 Darrow Rd, Stow, OH 44224. Interment will be at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
