CUYAHOGA FALLS - Nancy Katherine Wilson passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on July 26, 2026.

Her gift for expressing love for others, and her ability to build meaningful relationships with people of all ages resulted in many long-lasting friendships. She was born in Monahans, Texas to John and Esther Nuttall on November 29,1937. John worked in the oil industry, so the family, along with Nancy’s sister, Karen, moved through Texas and Oklahoma and into Illinois. Esther served as a nurse in hospitals where they resided. Nancy graduated from John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1956 and began her nursing training.

She met and married John Wilson in Oklahoma City and the couple moved to Chicago, Illinois then Akron, Ohio due to work opportunities in the auto industry. They made their home together in Stow, Ohio. Nancy was extremely involved in children’s ministries at Kent Baptist Temple and then Chapel Hill Alliance Church. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, Pioneer Girls Leader and Deaconess. She even taught Pre-kindergarten at Chapel Hill Christian School where John and Nancy placed their children for education. John and Nancy loved to vacation at Dale Hollow State Park in Tennessee. She considered it a major achievement that she was a slalom water skier. Nancy was very active in the educational and athletic lives of her two children John and Kim. She served in the PTA and learned to love basketball. She became a huge CAVS fan in her senior years. Nancy always practiced the “open-door” policy wherever she lived. She served many young people and their families through the Stow Alliance Church Home Bible Study ministry.

When her children moved on to college Nancy returned to her nursing training and received her RN Diploma from St. Thomas School of Nursing in 1981. She also served with her husband, John, in the creation of D&M Express, an over-the-road trucking company that eventually served nine states with nearly 40 company trucks and 150 owner operators. Due to the untimely death of her husband in 1990, Nancy stepped forward to take the helm of D&M with the phenomenal support of the employees. She led the company for five years. Nancy was so blessed to meet and marry Joseph Mazzagatti in 1997. Joe and Nancy loved to travel to Florida; and Joe taught Nancy to play golf, which they enjoyed well into their eighties. Nancy had the joy of being a frequent attender of educational and athletic activities for three sets of grandchildren. Joe and Nancy were regular congregants at Queen of Heaven Parish in Green, Ohio. They were blessed to be under the ministry of Father David Durkee, who continued to serve them right up through the end of their lives.

At heart, Nancy was a compassionate caregiver who received her greatest joys as a wife to John and Joe, a sister to Karen, a mother to John (Laura), Kim, Michelle (Todd) and Greg (Connie), a grandma to ten wonderful grandchildren: Krista, John Robert (Stephanie), Spencer (Tara), Emma, Owen, Graham, Garrett, Anthony, Rennick and Mariano and an aunt to Ty and Michelle. Nancy was especially blessed by friends Lisa O’Connor, Kelly Evans, and Karen and Deborah Lile and daughters Maybree and Brynlee, By her family and many friends, Nancy will be greatly missed.

The Mazzagatti/Mellon and Wilson families owe a debt of gratitude to the many wonderful caregivers and staff at Maplewood Senior Living where Nancy spent the last thirteen months of her life and to those at Crossroads Hospice who ministered so lovingly to her during that time.
