Obituary

KENT - Noland ‘Duane’ Armentrout

Noland ‘Duane’ Armentrout, 86, of Kent, went home to be with the Lord on October 27, 2026.

Born in Cuyahoga Falls, Duane grew up on a farm in Franklin Township and was a longtime resident of Kent.

Throughout his life, Duane was a hardworking and entrepreneurial man who wore many hats. In his younger years, he operated a small photography business and worked as a barber. He later drove trucks for Ben Franklin in Stow, worked as an owner-operator at Thomas Asphalt in Kent, and ran his own topsoil business. Duane was a many of many talents who was never afraid of hard work.

Never one to sit idle, Duane always had a project underway or something that needed fixing. In his younger years, he had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed drag racing. Water skiing, and riding motorcycles. His lifelong passion for anything with an engine carried into his later years, when he could often be found working on cars, trucks, and tractors. He especially enjoyed restoring antique tractors and riding them around his property. He was also an avid Cleveland Cavaliers fan and enjoyed going out for a good fish dinner.

Duane shared 65 years of marriage with his wife, Peggy. Together, they built a life centered around family and created countless memories over the years.

Above all else, Duane was a devoted family man. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whether gathering together, sharing stories, or simply enjoying one another’s company. He especially enjoyed hearing about his great-grandchildren’s activities and accomplishments, always taking an interest in what was happening in their lives. No matter how busy he was or how many projects he had underway, his family always came first.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Omar and Bessie Armentrout, and his siblings, Louise Fraley and Ronald Armentrout, and his brother-in-law Robert McGall.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Peggy Armentrout; his children Connie Armentrout and Norm Armentrout (Sue); his grandchildren, Ed Armentrout (Kelsey), Courtney Cowhick (Chris), Kimberly Armentrout, and Katie Armentrout; and his great-grandchildren, Braydon, Wyatt, Jade, Logan, Maverick, and Madix.

Pastor Don Miller will conduct the funeral service on Monday, November 2, 2026 at 11AM at Redmon Funeral Home 3633 Darrow Rd, Stow OH 44224. Friends may call Monday, November 2, 2026 from 10-11AM at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg.
