Hudson, OH -- Norma Jean Bauman, 81, formerly of Scottsdale, AZ, formerly of Stow, OH, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Hudson Grande in Hudson.
She was born on July 27, 1943 in Akron, Ohio, the youngest daughter of William M. and Mary Baze Kendrick. She married Frank Joseph Bauman, Jr. on October 17, 1964.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and their son, Michael.
Frank and Norma were active members of Stow Alliance Fellowship (now Living Vine Community Church) in Stow for many years before moving to Scottsdale AZ in 1996. Following Frank’s death in 2015, Norma moved back to Stow. Starting in 2018, she lived at Stow-Glen Retirement Village until its closing in 2021 when she moved to Hudson Grande in assisted living and subsequently in memory care.
Norma understood the gospel of Jesus Christ as a young woman and accepted Him as her personal savior. She studied the Bible by herself and with other Christians. She memorized Bible verses. She had a passion for sharing her faith with people she came in contact with. Norma and Frank made several overseas trips to share their love of Christ with others, especially with children. Norma’s life was one of service to God and others.
Even as dementia came, she continued her bright smile to those around her and loved singing hymns and praying with friends.
A special memorial service to celebrate her life, (and her love for desserts!) will be held on Sunday July 13 at 2:00 pm at Hudson Grande, 5400 Darrow Road, Hudson, Ohio.
