Emblem

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Norman Howard Blackburn, 88, formerly of Cuyahoga Falls, went to be with the Lord on July 15, 2025.

He was born in Helen, West Virginia, and had lived in Cuyahoga Falls for 61 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tallmadge. Norm was very active in the church, serving as deacon, a Sunday school teacher for 35 years and working with the youth group for 15 years.

He loved being outside working in his garden or fishing. He was always willing to help someone in need and was a phone call away. Norm also had a great sense of humor and was often up to shenanigans!

Norm was a proud veteran of the U.S Army, and was employed at the Brecksville VA Hospital, retiring after 49 years of service.

He and his wife Nancy set a beautiful example by being married just shy of 65 years.

Norman Howard Blackburn will be forever missed by his family.

Preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Virginia Blackburn; brother, Richard Blackburn, and sisters, Brenda Haily and Jewell Blackburn.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Blackburn; his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Michael Winney; brother, David Blackburn; sisters, Lana Wood, Janet Andrico and Freda Feamster; step-grandchildren, Adrienne Winney-Bowen and Fred Bowen and Alex Winney; step-great-grandchildren, Elijah, Magdalena and Paloma Winney-Bowen; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Pat Gray, Michael Gray and Steve and Leanne Gray, as well as  numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved.

Pastor Rick Bowman and Pastor Roy Durieux will conduct the funeral service on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 3 PM, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, where friends may call from 1 PM until time of service.

Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Tallmadge, 848 Southeast Avenue, Tallmadge, Ohio 44278.
