Norman S. George, 94, of Stow, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026.
Born May 4, 1932, in Tallmadge, Ohio, Norman lived a life defined by service, dedication, and love for his family. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 23 years, retiring with the distinguished rank of Chief Master Sergeant. His military career reflected his commitment to duty, leadership, and the values he carried throughout his life.
Norman was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Alline L. George, and his son, Douglas George.
He is lovingly remembered by his son, Norman "Sonny" George of Ohio, whose loving care over the past 16 years was a source of immeasurable comfort; his daughters, Karen (Jimmy) Deviers and Lydia (Robert) Johnston, both of South Carolina; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. His family was the center of his life, and he took great pride in watching future generations grow. He especially treasured attending his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting events and celebrating each milestone.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers who provided Norman with exceptional care, comfort, dignity, and kindness during his final years. Your dedication and support brought great comfort to Norman and his family and will always be remembered with sincere appreciation.
Norman will be remembered for his strength, integrity, quiet wisdom, and unwavering devotion to his family and his country. His legacy of service and love will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be cherished always by his family, friends, and all whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Redmon Funeral Home in Stow, Ohio with calling hours from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:30 a.m.
Interment with military honors will take place at 1:45 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
