STOW - Ora Gay McNeil-James, age 101, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 6, 2026.
Born on May 17, 1924, in Charleston, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Charles T. and Wanda B. McNeil. She was retired from Monroe Business Machines and a member of Central United Methodist Church and Canaan United Methodist Church in Charleston, West Virginia.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her church, family, and friends. She was involved in her church throughout her lifetime. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and Circle. She actively participated in fellowship, Sunday school, crafts, exercise, and world in the food pantry for many years. Her pride and joy were her great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles T. and Wanda McNeil; two sons, Dana Wesley James and Paul Franklin James; great-grandson, Dana Pedro Castillo; sister, Maxine Robertson; brothers, Charles T. McNeil, Jr. and Paul Edward, as well as her son-in-law, Dana Jordan.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Jordan of Stow, Ohio; grandchildren, Katherine Lynn Medina (Neo) of Stow, John Jordan of Stow, Wanda James of Charleston, West Virginia, Renee Taylor of Charleston, Rebecca Martin (Rick) of Charleston, Dana W. James of Cross Lanes, West Virginia, and Shawn James (Amy) of Chesapeake, West Virginia; great-grandchildren, Andrew Patrick Castillo, Christopher Gage Jordan, Kaydence Meadows, Presley Meadows, Jake Martin, Sadie Jo Martin, Rebecca James, Christopher James, and Elizabeth James, as well as many nieces and nephews she cared and loved very much.
Rev. Scott Low will conduct a funeral service Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 12 PM, at the United Methodist Church in Stow, 4880 Fishcreek Road, Stow, 44224, where friends may call from 10 AM, until service time.
Burial will follow at Silver Springs Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Ora Gay James to the United Methodist Church in Stow.
