HUDSON - Paul Barton Campbell, 93, passed away on June 20, 2023, as a result of heart failure just two days after a good visit from his children on Father’s Day.
He was married to Joan Brown Campbell (divorced 1974); Carolyn Campbell (deceased 1993); and Beverly Bierbusse (deceased 2021). He is survived by his children, Jane, Paul, Jr. (Wendy), and James (Patricia), John and Paul (Mary) Bierbusse; ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was born in Owosso, Michigan, to George W. and Louise P. Campbell, both deceased, and had one brother, Richard (Catherine), also deceased.
Paul graduated from the University of Michigan, from which he earned three degrees (business, law and accounting), and where he taught for a year. Following graduation, he worked at Squire, Sanders and Dempsey, (now Squire, Patton & Boggs), for forty-two years, (thirty years as a partner), working as a business lawyer and from time to time, he served in various management positions at that firm. During his career, he served as corporate secretary and/or a director of Ferro Corporation, Union Commerce Bank and Union Commerce Corporation, the Shelby Paper Box Company, and Midwest Forge Corporation. He also served as an officer and/or director/trustee of Heights Christian Church, Winton Place Condominiums, Sunland Springs Village Garden Condominiums, Sunland Springs Village Golf II Condominiums, Laurel Lake Retirement Community, Inc., and Beck Center for the Performing Arts.
