Obituary of Paul T. Murphy
Paul T. Murphy, of Stow, went home to be with the Lord on August 31, 2016.
He was born in Leetonia, OH on April 2, 1929. He was a pillar of strength in his large family, and was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Paul was dedicated to serving the Lord at Holy Family Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. Paul was an example Knight and lived by their motto "Through Him, In Him, With Him." In addition, Paul was a veteran, proudly serving in the Korean War and a Chaplain with the Ancient Order of the Hibernians, St. Brendan.
Paul will be greatly missed by his wife of 38 years, Joanne Murphy. Paul was preceded in death by his late wife, Mary Ann Murphy; son, Michael W. Murphy; brother, William (Laura) Murphy; brother, James (Carol) Murphy; brother, Joseph (Hattie) Murphy and sister, Catherine (Bernard) Domann. He joins these and other loved ones along with many friends at home in Heaven. He will also be missed by son, Paul G. (Irene) Murphy; son, David (Annette) Murphy; daughter, Mary (Patrick) Altieri; daughter-in-law, Connie Murphy; stepson, Michael Rouse and stepson, Joseph (Kathleen) Rouse; sister, Eileen (Robert) Zehner; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and relatives.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, September 4, 2016 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Redmon Funeral Home 3633 Darrow Rd., Stow, OH 44224. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 5, 2016 at 11 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow, OH 44224. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Holy Family Church in Stow, OH or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Northern Ohio Chapter - Cleveland.
