Peter R. Birgeles (1942 - 2013), passed away June 29, 2013, in Akron, Ohio.
Born in Ossining, NY, to Concetta and Peter Birgeles, Sr., he pursued a degree in business from The University of Maryland. He married Susan Birgeles and moved to Maryland to pursue his career in railroad management.
He is survived by his wife Susan Birgeles and many cousins. Peter worked for the C & O Railroad, the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, and the Wisconsin Central Railroad before coming to Akron as Director of the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. When he retired he became a fundraiser for Tuesday Musical Association. He was active in many railroad and plastic modeling associations and was active in the Catholic Church. Pete was a caring man who loved to work with people. He will be greatly missed by many.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service for their loving care and concern.
Calling hours are Friday from 5 to 8 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Rd, Stow. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 10 AM at Holy Family Church, 3179 Kent Road in Stow.
