He was born on November 19, 1956, to the late Ray and Donna Schmader, in Akron. Rich was a 1974 graduate of Stow High School, where he participated in band and other activities. Rich was a talented artist, creating many things from birthday signs and cement statues to perfect renditions of characters, like a Mickey Mouse Halloween costume he made for his brother-in-law. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved music, particularly rock ‘n’ roll and German heritage music.
In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Schmader; nephew, Eric Schmader, and brother-in-law, Tim Manley.
