Robert J. Lucey

May 30, 1952 — June 26, 2025

Stow

STOW - Robert J. Lucey, 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 26, 2025.

Born in Cleveland, he was a resident of Stow for 40 years. Robert had been employed with Union Metal as a plant supervisor, retiring in 2020. He was a member of St. Eugene Catholic Church.

Without a doubt, the highlight of his life was his family. He and his wife, Mary, raised six sons and one daughter together and family remained their cherished priority his entire life. Bob loved family gatherings, his famous pig roasts, celebrating the holidays, playing his daily Pick 3, and golf outings with his children. No matter what the event was, he always found a way to make everyone laugh and feel welcomed.

Bob was involved in Holy Family athletics as a dedicated, passionate, and devoted coach, making a lasting impact on youth of all ages and immensely enjoying his relationships with fellow coaches and parents. But the pinnacle of his life was his grandchildren, whether it was attending grandparents’ day, giving them jelly beans, or being present at their activities, you could always find him there early . . . and watch him exit as the first one out the door.

We will miss his quick wit, his Thanksgiving turkey and coleslaw, the morning phone calls, receiving his good luck texts before games, taking his grandkids to the river, enjoying the racetrack with him [especially the weekend of the Kentucky Derby], tailgating at Browns home openers, talking Cleveland sports, seeing him in the stands at his grandchildren's sporting events, and playing board games with his family. Bob was a role model to his children, allowing his actions to speak volumes, showing how to be a great Dad, how to live humbly with grit and work ethic, and how to always keep family priority number one.

Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Kathleen Lucey, and brother, Jimmy Lucey, he is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Lucey; daughter, Beth (Sean) Battisti; sons, Bobby (Jackie), Timmy (Nela), Patrick (Sarah), Tommy (Megan), Sean (Mary), and Brian (Jamie) Lucey; 21 grandchildren, Bobby, Ava, Mackenzie, Maddie, Brady, Sophia, Josh, Analise, Jack, Tommy, Nick, Bri, Sam, Jameson, Peyton, Brynn, Leo, Wyatt, Logan, Max, and Anthony; his four sisters, Eileen (Jim), Ann (Neil), Margaret (Harry deceased), and Mary (Steve), and two brothers, Bill and Tom (Ellen).
