Obituary of Robert D. Mascio

Robert D. Mascio, 93, of Stow passed peacefully into eternal life surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. Beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Robert is preceded in death by his mother, Maria; his father, Salvatore; his sister, Mary and his sister, Rose.

Robert was born in Chicago on October 16, 1924, and served in WWII as a Surgical Technician. He married Dolores Porreca, also of Chicago, in 1951 and they were married for 66 years. His professional career was in the Transportation Industry and post-retirement working as Union Representative. Robert also volunteered as an AARP tax assistant and at Good Neighbors in Cuyahoga Falls for many years.

Robert is survived by his wife, Dolores; his daughters, Pamela, Mary Ellen (Ray); grandchildren, Greg and Laura Deemer; and great-granddaughter, Emery. He leaves a large family behind with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Visitation will be at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow on Sunday, September 16 from 4 to 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday, September 17 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow. Burial will be private at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, Hospice of The Western Reserve, or The Alzheimer's Association.
