STOW - Robert Nicholas Thompson, 93, of Stow was called home to be with the Lord on January 22, 2014. He was born and raised in Akron. Later he moved to Stow where he resided the last 67 years. Robert served in the United States Navy during World War II and was retired from Goodyear Aerospace after 42 years of service.
After retiring he liked to golf. He also enjoyed spoiling and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Nicholas Thompson; mother Mary Thompson (Treitinger); and brothers Jack and Richard. He is survived by his sons, Michael (Cathalynn) of Cuyahoga Falls, and Stephen (Dawn) of Stow; grandchildren Noah and Gena Thompson of Stow.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday2 PM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends are invited for visitation from 12 Noon until service time. Interment Silver Springs Cemetery.
