YOUNGSTOWN - Robert A. Schoenstein, 87, formerly of Stow and Florida, died August 4, 2025.

Born in Akron, he was a U.S. Army veteran and had been employed full time as a truck driver, bus driver and instructor in both Ohio and Florida. After his retirement, Robert drove a Jolly Trolley in Florida. Robert enjoyed watching baseball and basketball, and was a fan of the Cavs, Browns and Indians. He especially enjoyed golf and football.

Preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Dorothy (nee Doyle) Schoenstein; siblings and their spouses, Bill, Maryellen (Jim) Barrett, Jerry (Jean), Kathleen (Ed) Moore and Peggy (Mal) Gittins, he is survived by his wife of 64 years, Claudia; daughter, Dian McCreary; grandchildren, Nichole Tomlinson (fiancé Robert Douglas), Tommi Lynn McCreary (fiancé Davonte St. Thomas) and Kody McCreary; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Connor, Kiara, Kaiden, Addison, Alaina, Maddielynn, Anthony, Leo and Averie; sister, Judith Stilwell, as well as nieces and nephews.

He was always the life of the party and instantly loved by anyone who met him. 

Services will be held Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 10:45 AM, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, with military honors provided by the U.S. Army.
