Obituary of Ruth Bourgeois

Ruth Ann Bourgeois, 87, died September 3, 2018.

She was born May 7, 1931 in Ravenswood, West Virginia to the late Otto and Jennie Burdette White.

Ruth was a very loving and dedicated wife and mother and a special friend to so many. She enjoyed being home and always had an open door for relatives, friends and neighbors. She spent her last few months at home enjoying her family, her flowers, and watching the birds.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Alan (Cheryl) Bourgeois of Kent, Roger (Glennelle) Bourgeois of Hudson; daughter Linda (Chuck) Schilling of Hudson; grandchildren Rachel (Yann) Bourgeois Sallet, Kristie Purcell, Sarah Bourgeois, Jennifer (Mike) Bourgeois Grossi, Laura (Jason) Bolongue, Lisa (Jason) Sharron, Amy (Justin) Herstich, Leah Schilling, Katie Schilling, Samuel (Gabby) Schilling; great grandchildren Marlon, Vlad, Kayla, Nevaeh, Noah, Emma, Maria, Nicholas, Anna, Leo, and sister-in-law Gertie White.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Rowland Gilbert Bourgeois; her three sisters Inez, Eloise, and Vada, and her seven brothers, Ferrell, Roy, Hoyt, Dick, Gerald, Dallas, and Charles White.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Summa Hospice for their loving care of Ruth.

Pastor Jerry Witt will conduct service Saturday 11 AM at Redmon Funeral Home, where friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 PM and Saturday from 10 AM until service time. Interment will follow at Silver Springs Cemetery. If friends desire, memorials may be made to Hospice of Summa, 1077 Gorge Blvd., Akron, OH 44310.
