STOW- Ruth Jeanne Hess, 82, made her transition into Heaven peacefully on April 5, 2014.
Ruth was born in Zanesville, Ohio on February 21, 1932 to the late Ralph and Bea Wagner. Ruth spent her early years in Mansfield, Ohio where she graduated from high school. Ruth lived in the Stow area for over 50 years and retired from the Stow school system where she worked as a lunch lady' for many years. She not only served lunch to her children while they attended school, but her grandchildren too!
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Hess; sons Mark (Jane) and Bryan (Erica) and daughters Cathy (Jim) and Colleen; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Ruth was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had a very generous heart and caring soul and she always put the needs of her family before her own.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of the Gardens of Western Reserve and Vitas Hospice.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Tuesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM where Pastor Jonathan Rumburg will conduct service Wednesday 10 AM. Entombment Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 70 W. Streetsboro Street, Suite 201, Hudson 44236.
