Ruth Luella Schneider

HUDSON- Ruth L. Schneider (nee Copeland), 87, died December 13, 2015.

Born in Mansfield, she attended Bowling Green University where she met her beloved husband, Herb. Living in Hudson from 1957-present, Ruth focused most of her energy on the betterment of others including the enhancement of husband, children and friends. She and Herb were long-standing snowbirds of Stuart, FL, where she also nurtured many good friendships and meaningful times. She was a joyous resident of the Laurel Lake Retirement Community for the past three years.

Preceded in death by her husband, Herbert A. Schneider; brother Richard A. Copeland (1959); and two grandsons, Carl Schneider and Ian Schneider. She is survived by daughter, Patricia Jao of MA; son Jeffrey (Martha) Schneider of Stow; son Douglas (Leslie) Schneider of FL; grandchildren, Max (Jen) Schneider, Chip (Lindsey) Caffelle, Doug (Randi) Caffelle, Brian Jao, Stephen Jao; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Rev. Paul Beal will conduct two memorial services: Wednesday December 23, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Redmon Funeral Home (3633 Darrow Rd, Stow), where friends may call from 1 PM until service time, and Thursday, December 24, 2015, at 10:30 AM in the Serenity Chapel at Laurel Lake's Crowne Center, 200 Laurel Lake Drive, Hudson. Light refreshments will be available at the conclusion of the Laurel Lake Service.

Ruth truly loved and visited many of our nation's National Parks, including Yellowstone and Yosemite. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the National Park Foundation (http://www.nationalparks.org/about-us).
