Obituary

HUDSON – Ruth Cecilia Walker, 96, passed away peacefully on November 03, 2026.

Born in Akron, Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who took great pride in caring for her family. An exceptional homemaker, she always made sure those she loved were well cared for and that her home was filled with warmth.

Ruth was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and especially treasured the friendships she shared through her Study Club. Bridge was a lifelong pleasure for Ruth. She made time for a regular bridge group that she enjoyed with the same friends from the early years of her marriage well into her late 80s—a testament to her love of the game and the lasting friendships it brought her. In her later years, Rummy and Five Crowns were other favorites, providing many hours of fun and friendly competition. She also had a love for music and dancing, and never missed an opportunity to hit the dance floor.

Above all, Ruth found her greatest happiness in caring for others. She generously devoted many hours to volunteering at community hospices, where she also provided pastoral care. Her kindness, compassion, and genuine care were first and foremost.

Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Walker; her parents, Florian and Mary Capra; and her son, Paul Walker (Tama).

She leaves behind her loving children, Beth Hewett (Charles), Mary Kay Knock (Melvin), Susan Walker, and Mike Walker; grandchildren, Elaine Bishop (Andrew), Jeff Morgan (Shanna), Ruth Anne Penca (John), Joseph Morgan (Ann Sharpe), Shannon Blyth (Scott), Nathaniel Knock, Terrence Knock (Kelsee), Hannah Jacques (Mike), and Julie Walker (Pepe Garcia); and great-grandchildren, Theodore Bishop, Stella Bishop, Henry Morgan, Harrison Morgan, Mae Penca, Josephine Penca, Frank Penca, Logan Knock, Weston Jacques, Waylynn Jacques, Josie Garcia, and Georgie Garcia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow, OH 44224. A luncheon at the church will take place immediately following the mass.
