Obituary of Ruth D. Wood

BRIMFIELD TOWNSHIP - Ruth D. Wood, born in 1923 to Earl and Hazel Shepherd, died May 8, 2017.



She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lyle; brother, Paul; and daughter-in-law, Lynne. She is survived by her sons, Gary (Jean) and Keith (Andrea); four grandchildren, Jenny (Mark), Steven (Michele), Julie (Steve), Seth (Shawnacee); and 14 great-grandchildren.



For many years, she and Lyle would go to Texas for the winter where they enjoyed teaching pattern dancing. Shehad a subtle sense of humor,and she was an avid Indians fan. After the Indians got to the World Series last year, she said, "now I can die." She taught us how to love when she alone cared for dad through six years of Alzheimer's and by her babysitting the grandchildren. She taught us to love through the good times and bad by always being supportive of her family. She was gentle and kind and had a very sweet demeanor. She was a true lady and an example to us all.

Pastor Mike Shaub will conduct funeral service Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11 AM at Redmon Funeral Home in Stow where friends may call from 10 AM until service time. Entombment to follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
