In Loving Memory of Sarah Ruth Helvie Lipply

AKRON - It is with deep love and gratitude that we celebrate the life of Sarah Ruth Helvie Lipply, (87), who went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 22, 2025, surrounded by the family she cherished so dearly. Sarah lived a life defined by selflessness, warmth, and a love so expansive it gathered others in effortlessly.

Born September 7, 1938, in Robinson, IL, with a generous heart and a gentle spirit, Sarah poured herself into the lives of everyone she met. She was the kind of woman whose presence made a room feel fuller, warmer, and safer. Her hugs were the kind you could feel long after they ended and her kitchen was a place where meals were made with as much love as ingredients. If you were blessed enough to sit at her table, you were fed in every sense of the word - body, heart, and soul. Sarah was employed by Hudson, Ohio, as a bus driver for the majority of her career.

Preceded in death by her parents, Marie Dudley and Arthur Merle Helvie; son, David Hastings, and sons-in-law, Dean Case and Tim Akin.

She is survived and loved by her husband of 52 years, George Lipply. Their love could move mountains and was built on friendship, laughter, and selflessness.

A devoted mother of nine children, Teresa (Tim), John (Cecelia), Sarah (Scott), Janice (Dean), Kathy (Bill), George (Liz), Steve, and Jennifer, Sarah and Joe built a family that grew into 24 grandchildren, David, Taylor, Shaughnessy, Johnathan, Jessica, Wesley, Nicole, Stephanie, Angela, Mariah, Vanessa, Dustin, Ashleigh, Zack, Danielle, Aldyn, Lindsy, Eric, Nolan, Seth, Ethan, Elizabeth, Addison, and Isabella, as well as 33 great-grandchildren, Quinn, Lucas, Jackson, Grace, Wyatt, Lily, Sawyer, Joe, Ruby, Nick, Brielle, Franklin, Savannah, Madelynn, Benjamin, Darius, Joey, Carson, Faith, Rex, James, Allissandra, Emelia, Jaxton, Alexandra, Phoenix, Audrey, Lydia, Olive, Pearl, Dresden, Hallie, and Anastasia, and their two adopted children, Terry Jentgens and Beth Waynesboro-Rattray, as well as many more, each one a testament to their love, guidance, and unwavering belief in the importance of togetherness.

Listening to the song “Crowded Table,” it’s clear that Sarah lived the lyrics - hers was a life of open doors, full plates, shared stories, and a table that was always, always big enough.

Sarah lived her faith quietly but powerfully, embodying the love of Christ in every act of kindness, every meal served, every hand held, and every sacrifice made. Her unwavering belief was the foundation on which her family stood and there is comfort in knowing she is now resting joyfully in the presence of her Savior.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and faith, that will echo through our families’ generations. Sarah’s heart was bigger than the life she lived here - big enough to hold us all - and we will carry her spirit with us always.

May her memory be a blessing and may we honor her by loving one another the way she taught us to: fully, openly, and with room for everyone at the table.

She’d love to welcome everyone to her final table and celebrate her life at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM, and where service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 11 AM.
