Shirley L. Grund

HUDSON - Shirley L. Grund, 82, died October 24, 2025.

Born in Paragould, Arkansas, Shirley was an Ohio resident for more than 70 years. She lived in Brimfield for 53 years and was most recently a resident of Hudson. Shirley worked at Kent State University as an administrative assistant for 25 years, where she was a valued colleague and friend.

A voracious reader and a fierce defender of her family, Shirley cherished moments spent with loved ones, especially her grandchildren. Along with her husband, David, she enjoyed going on cruises, seventeen in all, making memories across the world. In retirement, she pursued her passion for genealogy and traced the Grund family roots all the way back to a small village in Germany.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, David; daughter and son-in-law, Davina and Jim Werner; son and daughter-in-law, Victor and Stephanie Grund; grandchildren, Chloe and Malia Grund, Sara (Doug) Fifer, and David Werner, as well as her brother, Garland (Mary) Marks.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, November 3, 2025, from 5 to 7 PM, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224.

Interment will be private.
