Obituary of Thomas Edward Gavin

Thomas Gavin, age 52, was called into Heaven on November 19, 2018 to join his father, John, brother, Steven, brother, Jack and niece, Elise.

Tom was born April 30, 1966 to John and Helen Gavin in Euclid, OH. Tom filled the city of Euclid with his infectious personality, like everywhere else he entered. Tom was a star running back at Euclid and a world class weight lifter. Tom graduated from Ohio University, where he met the love of his life, Melanie. They married in 1993 and started a life in Mentor on the Lake. Tom entered sales and excelled. They moved to Stow, OH and welcomed Colton in 1997 and Kayla and Kenzie in 2003. They moved to Aurora, OH where they raised their children and furthered their careers. Tom was the consummate husband, father, friend and most importantly, servant of God! Tom could pack 50 hours of adventure into a 24 hour day. He was tireless in his love for his wife Melanie and his three children. He loved the Lord and served Him always. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

An amazing husband to wife Melanie; devoted father to Cole, Kayla and Kenzie; son of the late John Gavin and Helen Gavin; brother to the late Jack Gavin, Patrick Gavin (wife Jackie), June Zalewski (husband Dan) and late Steven Gavin; son-in-law to Bill Melvin (wife Melissa), Geoff Ziegler; brother-in-law to Sam Younkin (wife Jill), Mindy Melvin; uncle to Lisa O'Toole (husband Brion), Kelly Gavin ( fiance' Stephen Satrazemis), the late Elise Bojack, David Bojack, Jackie Gavin, Kristina Gavin, Taylor Younkin, Nick Younkin, Maddie Melvin; great uncle to Jack O'Toole, Jamie O'Toole, Katie O'Toole, Johnny O'Toole and Stella Satrazemis.

Pastor Joe Coffey will conduct a celebration of life service at 10 AM on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Christ Community Chapel, 750 W. Streetsboro St., (Route 303), Hudson, OH 44236.
