STOW - Thomas Oliver Myers passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over fifty years, Karen Marie Myers. Thomas is survived by his children, Jason, David (Sara), Eric (Lisa), and Bryan (Kristin); his siblings, Ken and Don; his five wonderful grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many more extended family members.

Thomas was born on July 23, 1943, in Akron, Ohio. He was raised in Akron, where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout before graduating from Akron Public Schools. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from The University of Akron and completed the ROTC Program for the United States Army while attending college. After graduation, Thomas began his active-duty commitment to the U.S. Army, where he served in Korea as a transportation officer for the next two years. Once he fulfilled his duties, he returned to Ohio where he continued to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves while pursuing his master’s degree at Kent State University. Thomas served in the U.S. Army for a combined total of fifteen years before retiring in 1981 after obtaining the rank of captain. Thomas began his career working with a public accounting firm for ten years. As he and Karen grew their family, his desire to have more flexibility for his children led him to leave the corporate world and start his own accounting firm. He successfully built and ran his own firm for the next forty years until his retirement in 2022.

Thomas’s most important priority was being there for his family. He spent many hours supporting all four of his sons in athletics, Indian Guides, Boy Scouts, and school events. As their kids grew into adults, Thomas and Karen made it a point to regularly travel to the states where their sons lived. He was a dedicated member of the First Christian Church of Stow, where he and Karen were members for over fifty years. In addition to being a member, he also served as a deacon in the church and was a volunteer. One of the many things that Thomas used to love to participate in was the church softball league and the Silver League softball team, where he played for most of his adult life. He was also an avid bike rider where he enjoyed biking for a cause, supporting the MS Society by riding alongside all of his sons in the MS 150 fundraiser for 24 years.

Thomas was a man of God, a Veteran who loved his country, a loving husband, a supportive father, a fun grandpa, and a loyal and giving brother, son, and friend. He loved to be outdoors, active in his community, and lend a helping hand when needed to all.

"You are a good and faithful servant. I left you in charge of only a little, but now I will put you in charge of much more.                                  Come and share in my happiness!" Matthew 25:21
