Obituary of Thomas Gregory Shupe



ROOTSTOWN TOWNSHIP - Thomas Gregory Shupe, 22, passed away September 7, 2015.

Preceded in death by his aunt, Carol Hursell, Gregory is survived by his parents, Thomas and Kendra Shupe; brother, Andrew; grandparents, Robert (Ruth) Shupe, Carole Josh, Gary (Marcy) Schaffer; aunts and uncles, Linda (David) Makowski, and Terri (Larry) Ruth; godparents Doreen and Dale Osmun.

Greg was a 2011 graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School. He loved all Cleveland sports teams and the Colorado Avalanche. Greg was a terrific snowboarder and an accomplished hockey player. As a captain, Greg led the Walsh Jesuit hockey team. Greg was a senior pre-med student at The Ohio State University. Greg had a magnetic personality and was an excellent role model for all, especially his younger brother Andrew.

Greg was a confident, dynamic leader in all aspects of life. As an organ donor, he was able to enhance the well-being of many people throughout the United States. He will be missed by all.

Family and friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Thursday 4 to 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:30 AM at University Parish Newman Center, 1424 Horning Rd., Kent, Ohio 44240. Luncheon celebration immediately following in the Newman Center Social Hall.

Attire for the calling hours and mass is casual. In honor of Gregory, Scarlett and Gray is encouraged as is Maroon and Gold.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for the family. Contributions may be made to Kendra Shupe, c/o 7339 Burntwood Lane, Hudson, Ohio 44236, or via PayPal to [email protected]
