Twila E. Manchee

Twila E. Manchee, 97, passed away on July 5, 2016, at Stow Glen Retirement Village in Stow, OH.

Twila was born in Nebraska to Alfred and Sarah Engelhardt on December 11, 1918. She married Ralph H. Manchee in 1942 in Chicago, and they lived in Kansas, Illinois, Missouri, and Florida before moving to Stow in 2006. The wife of a minister, Twila was active in the churches her husband served and played organ and piano in Baptist churches in Ocala FL and at Crestview Baptist Church in Stow. She also worked for J.C. Penney Company stores in Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois before retiring in 1983. Ralph and Twila enjoyed bowling and played on teams regularly into their 80s.

Twila is survived by her daughter, Penelope (John) Graves; grandson, Benjamin (Karen) Graves; and two great-grandsons, Adam and Levi. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph after almost 67 years of marriage; daughter, Sandra Kay Manchee; grandson, Christopher William Graves; sister, Elvina Boyer; and brother, Donald Engelhardt.

Friends are invited to call at the Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, on July 8 at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Benjamin Graves officiating. Burial will take place at Silver Springs Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Crestview Baptist Church, 3943 Fishcreek Road, Stow, OH 44224. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Stow Glen Retirement Village for their years of dedication to Ralph and Twila in the last years of their lives, and to the hospice nurses of Harbor Light who helped in the last few days of Twila's life on earth.
