Walter Topinka

SILVER LAKE - Walter Topinka passed away on April 20, 2020 at 93 years of age, at the Skilled Nursing Center at Ohio Living Rockynol in Akron.

He was born on December 18, 1926 in southeast Cleveland where he met his wife, Dolores. They had three children. He has lived in Silver Lake, Ohio since 1987.

Walter was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, his son, Roy William (5), his mother, Mary Topinka, his father, Joseph Topinka, his brother, Alfred, and his, sister Florence. He is survived by his two daughters, Lyn Topinka (Gene Iwatsubo) of Vancouver, WA, and Deborah L. Bly (John) of Peoria, AZ (previously Owings, MD). He is also survived by his granddaughter, Stephanie L. Swann (Christopher) and great-granddaughter, Charlotte Elise, of Peoria, AZ.

Walter was a member, until recently, of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), Chapter 147.

Private burial was held at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that any memorials be made to EAA, P.O. Box 3086, Oshkosh, WI 59903.
