Wesley P. Hartzfeld

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Pastor Wes Hartzfeld went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2016.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by wife and soul mate, Connie; son, Paul; daughter, Jessica; daughter-in-law, Cheryl; grandchildren, Cameron and Arianny; and brother, Dave.

Wes was born on July 11, 1945 in Huntingdon, PA to the late Fred and Ruth Hartzfeld. He served as pastor and counselor at The Chapel in Akron for 38 years. Those whose lives he touched valued him for his kindness, patience and wry sense of humor. One of Wes's favorite pastoral duties was officiating weddings; he tallied over 600 ceremonies during his service at The Chapel.

Although he remained a diehard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Wes also embraced Ohio State football and was known to plan his weekends in the Autumn around the Buckeyes' schedule.

Friends are invited to The Chapel, 135 Fir Hill, Akron, Ohio 44304 for calling hours Friday, August 26, 2016 from 1 to 4 PM in the Memorial Chapel. Pastor Paul Sartarelli will conduct a memorial service Saturday at 11 AM at The Chapel in the Worship Center.
