William H. Monteith, Jr., 86, died January 22, 2019.
Born in Cuyahoga Falls, he was a U.S. Army veteran, received his undergraduate degree from Case Tech, (now Case Western), and earned his MBA from the University of Michigan. Mr. Monteith retired in 1997 as owner of Akromold, the business started by his father in 1940. A member of Stow Presbyterian Church, Bill was also a founder and original board member of both Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy and Chapel Hill Christian School, serving on the board of the latter for 43 years.
Preceded in death by his parents, Winifred and William H. Monteith, Sr., and brother Robert, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara; children, Scott (Ingrid) Monteith, Meredith (Jeff) Glick; four grandchildren, and brother Bruce Monteith.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home for visitation Friday 4 to 7 PM. Pastor John Wilson will conduct service Saturday, 10:30 AM at Stow Presbyterian Church, 4150 Fishcreek Road, Stow. Burial Chestnut Hill Memorial Park, with military honors provided by the U.S. Army.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chapel Hill Christian School or Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy.
