William R. Hill

STOW - William R. Hill, 84, died July 29, 2020.

Born in Follansbee, WV, on January 26, 1936, he met his future wife Yvonne (Brewer) Hill in 1954 and married June 10, 1956. He received his bachelor's degree from Mount Union College in Alliance, and his master's degree from Ohio University in Athens. Bill began his teaching career in music education in Mt. Pleasant and then moved to the Cuyahoga Falls schools in 1961. He became assistant principal for several years, but returned to teaching music, which was his greater passion, and retired in the spring of 1987.

His passion was for family, music and God, but he also enjoyed gardening, photography and traveling. He instilled these values in his children and grandchildren, all of whom had music as a part of their daily lives.

Preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne, in 2015, he is survived by his children, Russ (Donna) Hill, Susan (Anthony) Ricchiuto, Clark (Anne) Hill, Amy (Rudy) Stagl; grandchildren, Josh (Amanda) Hill, Brian Hill, Drew Hill, Alayna (Adam) Jordan, Mario (Saschia) Ricchiuto, Geena (Eric) Kelly, Leana (Jordan) Rupp, Marina Stagl, Sarita Ricchiuto, Marissa Hill, Ethan Hill and Angelo Ricchiuto; great-grandchildren James Ricchiuto and Korraha Rupp and sister, Doris Mae Hunter.

A Celebration of Life worship service will be held Saturday, August 1st at 2 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls at the corner of Portage Trail and 3rd Street. Due to COVID 19, masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
