HUDSON - William “Bill” M. McLure of Hudson, OH, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, after his battle with lung cancer.
A son of the late Kenneth Mitchell McLure and Eileen (Wray) McLure, Bill was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, August 26, 1942. He was the eldest of three children and is survived by his sister, Marylyn Jean Halusky of Jacksonville, FL and his brother, Bruce Wray McLure of St. Augustine, FL.
Bill graduated high school from Mercersburg Academy, Mercersburg, PA, and went on to obtain an electrical engineering degree from Lafayette College in Easton, PA. Later in his career, he earned an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey.
Bill pursued a career testing and designing computer hardware for IBM, GE, Control Data Corporation, Perkin Elmer Data Systems and Rockwell International. In 1997, he purchased a vinyl sign shop in Cleveland where he made and sold custom signs.
Bill was a member of both the Kiwanis Club and Rotary Club in Hudson. He also volunteered repairing bicycles for the Bikes for Christ organization and was a member of the North Coast Triumph Association.
Bill married Mary Ann Marchand in 1967, and they had two children: Noelle Marchand McLure and Petra Christine McLure, who both survive him; two grandchildren, Raven Ernesta McLure and Zoe McLure Rick. Mary Ann passed away in 1996, and Bill married Anna Richards, nee Cosio, nee Patete in 2011.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Hudson Presbyterian Church, 201 W. Streetsboro Street, Hudson, OH 44236. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 PM, Friday, July 25, 2025, at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224. Interment Oak Park Cemetery in New Castle, PA.
