Eugene "Gene" Bergey

STOW - Eugene “Gene” Bergey, 78, died peacefully at home after a short illness on October 7, 2022. Born in Akron, he was a resident of Stow since 1977, and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Gene was employed with Kustom Sheet Metal as a foreman, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed drawing, tinkering, and collecting coins. Gene was preceded in death by his father, Nelson Bergey; mother, Stella (Park) Bergey, and brother, Bob Bergey. He is survived by his daughters, Denise Bergey-Shoaff, Lisa (Michael) Roberto, and Aimee (Steve) Largent; son, Rick Bergey; grandchildren, Leslie, Collin, Brendon, Caleb, Micah, Joe, Dominic, Matthew, Sophia, Jocelyn, Jackson; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Robinson, Kay Bennett, and Jane (Cloyd) Bachus; sister-in-law, Bev Bergey, and special friend, Patty Maney. Funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224. Friends may call 4 PM to 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg at a later date.
